SentryLink Scam

Author Posted by Admin on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at 11:46 am

SentryLink is a company that offers a number of services like background checks online. Recently Ripoff Report has been inundated with reports of people less than satisfied with their experience with SentryLink. Supposedly SentryLink has been giving partial reports while charging full price. The most extreme example I read was a woman who only got a street address for her “background check” that cost her $24.95. I did some research and this is what my background search would contain. Mind you this is not something that is shown to you at check out, this is something I had to dig around their site to find.

Duval County
Court records of misdemeanor and felony dispositions from 1975 – March 2008. Results may show Name, DOB, Race, Sex, Charges, Arrest Date, Disposition, Case Number, and Disposition Date. Updates have been temporarily suspended.

Now anytime something says that they “may have” something you have to be a bit suspicious. My background check may show a name? They are not even promising that they will tell me the name of the person I am conducting a background check on. Also I am unsure what “Updates have been temporarily suspended.”  means. Does that mean that the information they have is outdated? I will never buy anything that does not have some sort of accountability or guarantee.
